The City of Reno will hold a town hall about the California Avenue Mural Project on Thursday, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the McKinley Arts and Culture Center. The project will feature a new mural by the ABG Art Group, according to the City of Reno.
Residents can meet the ABG Art Group artists and learn about the mural’s concept at the town hall. They can also share their opinions to help shape the artwork. The mural will be over 1,000 feet long and 3 to 18 feet high. Those unable to attend can take part in an online survey open until September 7, as reported by the City of Reno.
On Wednesday, ABG Art Group will hold a free workshop for local artists at the same venue as the town hall, focusing on public art careers. Reno commissioned ABG Art Group in May 2025 to create a mural near California and Keystone Avenues. The site was chosen for its large surface, and more information is available on the California Avenue Mural webpage, as stated by the City of Reno.
