Yolo County Public Works Division has announced that road maintenance will commence on County Road 28H, affecting sections between County Roads 102 and 105, not far from Davis. The project, slated to start on Monday, August 18, will carry on through August 29, according to an advisory on the county's official website. With work hours from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., disruptions are expected, although roads will be accessible outside of these times each evening.

Weather and availability of hot mix asphalt plant supplies could influence the schedule, a variable to watch for those planning to traverse the area. Commuters are advised to expect delays and consider alternative routes during the active hours. Even though flaggers and signs will be present, guiding drivers around the workers, road and lane closures could complicate travel.

Motorists may face a full closure between County Roads 102 and 103 if deemed necessary for the safety of the maintenance crew, but detours will be clearly marked. These will utilize County Road 27, leading to County Road 103 and back to County Road 28H, aiming to minimize inconvenience.

For those making their way to the Yolo County Central Landfill, while access remains uninterrupted, weekday visits might be slower when coming from the west via County Road 102. As an alternative path, travelers can approach from the east using County Road 32A to County Road 105, then connecting to County Road 28H, sidestepping the heaviest construction zones. Detailed maps and further information on road closures can be found on the Yolo County road closures page.

Yolo County officials urge the public to practice caution, obey all construction signs and the instructions of flaggers when passing through the work zone.
