A high-speed chase spanning multiple counties in Florida concluded with a submerged vehicle and suspects on the run. The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) reported that the incident began with a robbery in Manatee County, with law enforcement pursuing a 2025 Toyota sedan associated with the crime. According to WFLA, the pursuit started at approximately 2:32 a.m., and the FHP, alongside the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office, worked together in the chase.

Despite their efforts, the FHP lost sight of the sedan, later receiving a crash alert notification from the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office. The vehicle was ultimately found submerged in a pond at Gibsonton Drive and Mathog Road. "Troopers lost sight of the sedan and received a crash alert notification from the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, where they found the vehicle submerged in a pond," according to WFLA report. The joint search involved FHP aviation and dive teams but did not result in locating the suspect(s).

Initially, the Manatee County Sheriff's Office began the pursuit after a robbery where the victim reported selling personal items to three men, one of whom brandished a gun. Following the incident, the FHP joined in the search, with both agencies engaging in the pursuit of the identified vehicle, detailed by FOX 13 News.

After the vehicle crashed into the pond and the suspects fled, a search was conducted by Hillsborough aviation and dive teams to recover the vehicle. As per both accounts, the individuals involved were not found inside the vehicle or in the nearby water. "Troopers said Hillsborough aviation and dive units searched the area and recovered the vehicle, but no one was found inside or nearby," as reported by Bradenton Herald. The multi-agency effort to locate the suspects continues.

The FHP has not made any arrests thus far, and the investigation into the whereabouts of the robbery suspects is ongoing. A 25 thousand dollar reward has been offered for information leading to the apprehension of the suspects, and the case stands as a reminder of the challenges faced by law enforcement in capturing fugitives who take to extreme measures to evade arrest. Details will be updated as more information becomes available.
