Sacramento PD will hold its annual Female Fitness Challenge on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at McKinley Park, 601 Alhambra Blvd. The event includes physical challenges and provides an opportunity to learn about careers in law enforcement, according to the City of Sacramento.

The event will have team and solo fitness challenges, chances to meet female Sacramento PD officers, learn about Specialized Units, get wellness tips, and win prizes. "This is a great way to learn more about law enforcement careers and be able to speak with recruiters in a fun and supportive environment," said Allison Smith, the department's Public Information Officer. The event also supports the 30x30 goal to increase female officers to 30% by 2030 and promote diversity in the department, as reported by the City of Sacramento.

The schedule includes the Physical Ability Test, or "Work Sample Test Battery," a required fitness evaluation for all Sacramento PD officers. Check-in starts at 8 a.m., and participants should come hydrated and in workout gear. Registration and other details are on the event flyer. Updates and questions about the recruitment process are available on Sacramento Police's Instagram @sacpd_recruiting, as stated by the City of Sacramento.
