San Antonio's District 9 Councilmember Misty Spears has landed seats on three influential city council committees, according to the City of San Antonio official announcement. These include the Economic and Workforce Development Committee, the Public Safety Committee, and the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, roles that will significantly impact the direction of San Antonio's growth and safety initiatives.
"It is an honor to be entrusted with these responsibilities," Spears stated. According to the City of San Antonio, Spears has been in office since June of this year. The Economic and Workforce Development Committee is charged with overseeing and steering the city's economic health, emphasizing job creation, business attractions, and workforce development through efforts such as the SA Ready to Work program. The councilmember will be involved in discussions that could shape San Antonio's economic future.
For matters of public safety, Spears will offer input on issues from fire protection to emergency preparedness and animal care services in her role on the Public Safety Committee.
