In a recent unveiling, the Santa Rosa Police Department (SRPD) shared a successful update on their ongoing Missing Person Monday campaign, which began in January 2024. This initiative, crafted to shed light on long-forgotten adult missing person cases, has so far seen a significant measure of success, leading to the location of five missing adults, one of whom has been unaccounted for since 2005. In their public communication, SRPD expressed continued commitment to solving these cold cases and bringing peace to the families left in limbo.
According to a social media post from the department, the campaign has turned out to be more effective than perhaps the organizers anticipated. The SRPD's initial six-week program highlighted 30 cases, with the most recent case reaching back to 1984. Encouraged by the positive outcome of the campaign, including the swift location of one individual shortly after the launch, the SRPD announced the commencement of a third Missing Person Monday push.
The department encourages residents both within and outside of Santa Rosa to contact local law enforcement or the SRPD at 707-528-5222 if they have immediate knowledge of the whereabouts of any featured individuals. For additional information that might assist with ongoing investigations, the public is urged to contact the SRPD Violent Crimes Investigations Team tip line at 707-543-3590.
