Yesterday, Interstate 495 was marked by vehicular accidents as Montgomery County witnessed two separate incidents, each with its own toll. In the early hours, a two-vehicle crash near the Virginia state line resulted in non-life-threatening injuries to one woman. DC News Now reported that responders at the scene did not find anyone trapped despite initial concerns.
Later in a day that plated more sorrow on the tarmac, a rollover collision took a more grievous turn, claiming the life of one man and leaving another injured. "Bystanders pulled two adult male occupants from the vehicle and began CPR," David Pazos, spokesperson for Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service, said in a statement obtained by MoCo Show. One of the men was pronounced dead at the scene while the other suffered injuries non-threatening to his life.
The tragedy unfolded between Georgia Avenue and Colesville Road in Silver Spring, where a vehicle overturned and elicited the aid of both civilian and professional lifesavers. An investigation into the cause of the rollover was anticipated, as noted by WJLA. Details on the third victim, who was treated at the scene and declined hospitalization, remained sparse in the immediate aftermath.
