
A dog theft on a Bronx subway has left police searching for the culprit and the stolen American Bully after the pet was taken from its owner, who was asleep at the time of the incident. According to ABC7NY, the theft occurred early Sunday morning, on a northbound D train near Norwood Station.
The suspect, a man in his early 20s, escaped with the dog and has not been located since, his image from subway security footage circulating in hopes of a lead that the police require the public's assistance in identifying the man described as slender with medium length black braids, brown eyes, and a black goatee, he was wearing a black faded jacket, black T-shirt, black shorts, black shoes, and a black baseball cap during the theft. In addition to the description given, the New York Post reported a video shared by police showing the suspect smirking as he passed through a subway turnstile.
The New York Police Department has issued a call for help from anyone with information about the theft or the whereabouts of the suspect. The stolen dog, described as black and brown, was taken from its 45-year-old owner near the Bainbridge Avenue and East 206th Street station.
