Yesterday morning, Seattle witnessed another episode of violence as detectives from the Seattle Police Department began an investigation into a South Seattle homicide. The incident, which took place around 4:10 a.m. at the intersection of 1st Avenue South and South Dakota Street, resulted in two individuals being shot and prompted a swift response from patrol officers who discovered a juvenile with a gunshot wound to his leg, and a man suffering from a chest wound. Both shooting victims were transported to Harborview Medical Center in serious condition. Doctors attempted to save the injured male but were ultimately unsuccessful; he was pronounced dead at the hospital. However, the juvenile's injuries are not expected to be fatal.
