A semi-truck caught fire on SR 18 in Maple Valley last Saturday morning, leading to traffic disruptions and an emergency response. Traffic cameras captured smoke and flames as the fire spread to nearby brush near 236th Ave. SE, according to KOMO News.
The fire caused major traffic delays when the right lane of State Route 169 was blocked around 11:30 a.m., the Washington State Department of Transportation said. FOX 13 Seattle reported that officials were unsure when the lane would reopen due to firefighting efforts and a brush fire that spread along the road.
Puget Sound Fire crews quickly extinguished a semi-truck trailer fire on a local roadway within about 30 minutes, though traffic was delayed for several hours as crews cleared debris, as mentioned by KIRO 7. No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
