
In a grave series of events that unfolded over the weekend, Seminole County became the scene of a hit-and-run resulting in the tragic loss of a young cyclist. Local Florida authorities announced charges against a couple believed to be involved in the incident, according to a ClickOrlando report. The Florida Highway Patrol stated that last Saturday evening, around 9:46 p.m., a 25-year-old man from Winter Springs was struck by a vehicle while cycling within the marked bike lane on U.S. Highway 17-92, south of Spartan Drive, a crash which led to his on-scene death.
The vehicle in question, a 2016 BMW X6 that was later located by investigators, allegedly fled the scene after the incident troopers, in their continuing investigation, managed to apprehend 37-year-old Christopher Canet who is now facing charges for leaving the scene of a crash involving death and his wife, 39-year-old Belkis Rodriguez, charged with accessory after the fact according to WESH.
Both Canet and Rodriguez were booked into Seminole County Jail, as the probe into the exact circumstances surrounding the tragic night continues.
