The Socorro Independent School District (SISD) is set to host a special event tailored for military families in the community. The Military-Connected Families Recruitment and Information EXPO will be held tomorrow, August 9, from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. According to Socorro ISD, the gathering aims to provide a platform for military-connected families to explore a variety of educational programs available within the district. These include academics like early college and special education, as well as extracurriculars such as sports and other student activities.
Families attending the EXPO can expect not only to gather valuable information but also to enjoy some attractive perks. SISD is offering complimentary breakfast croissants, coffee, and juice for the first 100 attendees. This seemingly small gesture underscores the district's commitment to warmly welcoming those who serve and to seamlessly integrating their children into the school system. The event, boasting to provide insights into "all the endless opportunities that SISD provides for students," indeed appears to extend its hospitality beyond mere academic advisement.
The expo will be hosted at the SISD District Service Center, located at 12440 Rojas Dr. To add a bit more incentive, the district has announced that prizes and gifts will be part of the day's offerings. While the specifics of these prizes haven't been revealed, it's clear that SISD is keen to make a positive impression on the families that contribute so much to the nation's security and well-being.
