
The Tuolumne County Sheriff's Office has issued an urgent appeal to the public for assistance in locating 85-year-old Barbara Dee Crosby, a resident of Skyline Place in Sonora, who has been reported missing since last night. According to a Facebook post by the Tuolumne County Sheriff, Crosby was last confirmed seen around 10pm at Skyline Place, a senior living community on Sylva Lane near Cabezut Rd, with a possible sighting this morning between 9:30-10am.
Ms. Crosby, who is living with dementia and considered at risk, is described by the authorities as being approximately 5’2”, weighing around 130lbs with short gray hair, glasses; she was last seen wearing a black and red flannel top, jeans, and tennis shoes, Barbara, known for her regular strolls with her dog, Poncho, a small tan chihuahua mix, is believed to have departed on foot in an undetermined direction from the assisted living facility to walk her pet, which has added to the urgency of the search.
The sheriff's office is reaching out to anyone in Sonora and the surrounding community who might have knowledge of Barbara Dee Crosby's whereabouts or who might have seen an elderly woman fitting her description walking with a small dog.
