A shooting in south Phoenix has abruptly ended the life of 41-year-old Gabino Martinez Jr. According to FOX 10 Phoenix, police were called to a residence near 7th and Southern Avenues early Friday morning and arrived just before 3:45 a.m. to find the man deceased on the ground.
Detective work quickly began to unravel the night's dark shroud, as officers detained several individuals at the scene, but they were later released after authorities processed the scene. "Homicide detectives responded and took over the investigation. They processed the scene, spoke to witnesses, and searched for video surveillance," said Sgt. Phil Krynsky, in a statement obtained by FOX 10 Phoenix. As they continue to meticulously comb through evidence, the events that led up to Martinez's death remain shrouded in mystery, with no suspects currently in custody.
Police are asking for the public’s help in the case. Anyone with information about the circumstances surrounding Martinez’s death is urged to contact Phoenix Police or provide an anonymous tip through Silent Witness, as per AZFamily.
