
Tragedy struck Southeast DC late Tuesday night when a triple shooting resulted in the death of a man and left two others injured. According to the Metropolitan Police Department, 29-year-old Devonta Bazemore of Northwest, DC, was found lifeless, a gunshot victim, at the 1800 block of U Street, Southeast, and declared deceased on the scene.
At around 11:19 p.m. on August 5, Seventh District officers arrived following reports of the incident. They found Bazemore, along with another adult male and female, both of whom were wounded but survived with non-life-threatening injuries. The two were subsequently rushed to a local hospital for treatment and released later. The authorities have not disclosed the names of the injured victims. In pursuit of justice and answers, the MPD urges anyone with information to come forward, underscoring the potential for a $25,000 reward for tips leading to an arrest and conviction in this homicide case.
