
In a concerning turn of events, the Stockton Police Department is currently seeking assistance in a hit-and-run case that led to a fatality last month. The social media announcement by the Stockton Police Department detailed that, on July 24, a 63-year-old male bicyclist suffered fatal injuries after being struck by a vehicle on Eight Mile Road, over the Highway 99 overpass.
The incident occurred early morning, at about 7:50 AM, and the suspect has yet to be apprehended. A witness provided a crucial lead, describing the suspect vehicle, as, a late 2000s gray Honda Civic. Following the collision, the vehicle in question did not stop, continuing westbound on Eight Mile Road.
The victim was promptly transported to a local hospital but tragically succumbed to his injuries later. The Stockton Police Department’s Traffic Unit is spearheading the investigation, reaching out to the community for any information that could aid in locating the suspect.
