Today, commuters experienced significant delays when a SunRail train collided with a vehicle in Maitland. The incident, reported by ClickOrlando, occurred just after 1 p.m. at the intersection of Packwood Avenue and Maitland Avenue. Responding to the scene were Maitland police and firefighters who worked to manage the situation quickly.
The collision forced SunRail to announce delays on trains P318 NB and P321 SB by approximately 20 minutes. Maitland Fire Rescue Department urged motorists to immediately seek alternative routes to avoid the area affected by the crash.
According to a city spokesperson, fortunately, no serious injuries were reported in the aftermath of the event, as detailed by WFTV.
