
Over a span of three days, a 27-year-old man, David Ramirez, was apprehended and linked to a string of sexual assaults in the San Pedro neighborhood. As reported by the LAPD, the incidents took place between August 16 and August 18, impacting four individuals ranging in age from 13 to 42, who were either walking on the sidewalk or inside a store when they were attacked.
According to the LAPD, on the final day of this alarming series, a victim was assaulted near 6th Street and Pacific Avenue; the suspect came up from behind her, restrained her, and commenced the sexual assault the victim with the aid of other community members followed the suspect to his apartment on 8th Street, where he was subsequently located and detained by police officers and detectives.
Ramirez is now being held without bail on a felony sexual battery charge, although jail records from the time point to a bail set at $100,000, as per KTLA. In their ongoing efforts, detectives believe there are potentially more victims who have yet to step forward and have released Ramirez’s booking photograph to encourage additional reports.
