
A man was arrested following a shooting at Golden Gardens Park on Monday evening that left one person with serious injuries. According to the Seattle Police Department's Blotter, the incident occurred around 8:00 p.m. at the park located at 8498 Seaview Place Northwest.
Seattle police responded to the scene where they found a 35-year-old man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. A trauma doctor who happened to be at the scene assisted officers in providing medical aid until the Seattle Fire Department arrived and took over. The victim was then transported to Harborview Medical Center in serious condition with life-threatening injuries.
The suspect, a 22-year-old man, had fled the scene in a black Mercedes before officers arrived but was located shortly after. The car was stopped at 28th Avenue Northwest and Northwest Market Street, where police conducted a high-risk traffic stop and detained three individuals, including the shooter. A handgun was recovered during the arrest.
Detectives from the Gun Violence Reduction Unit (GVRU) arrived to investigate the situation, and the suspect was taken to Seattle Police Headquarters for questioning. "He is expected to be booked into the King County Jail for Investigation of Assault," the SPD Blotter reports.
