Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department authorities have taken Axel Abel Trevino, 32, into custody as a person of interest following a triple homicide in Lancaster. The incident, leaving two men and a woman dead, occurred around 4:45 p.m. this past Sunday in a remote area of Antelope Valley, as noted by KTLA. Officials describe Trevino as being 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighing 180 pounds, last seen driving a damaged silver 2021 Nissan Altima.

Upon their arrival at 215th Street East and E. Palmdale Boulevard, deputies discovered the three victims shot inside two different vehicles. The Los Angeles County Fire Department paramedics declared all three individuals dead at the scene. Initially, details regarding Trevino's connection to the victims were withheld. However, by Tuesday evening, authorities had located and detained Trevino. CBS News Los Angeles reports the victims have now been identified as Nazario Ramirez, 54, Juan Arteaga Diaz, 44, and Beverely Cassese, 65.

The sheriff's department issued a call for public assistance earlier this week to help locate Trevino. They shared a photo of his vehicle publicly to aid in the search. In a statement obtained by KTLA, the vehicle was noted to have visible damage on the passenger-side front quarter panel.

While the investigation continues, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department asks anyone with information about the incident to come forward. They urge individuals to contact the Homicide Bureau or to provide information anonymously through "Crime Stoppers."
