Steven F. Bombiani, the man accused of a vicious attack on an elderly woman in Beaver County, has been placed under arrest, police report. After an exhaustive search, Bombiani was located inside a trailer in New Sewickley Township, where he was found last night, around 6:30 p.m. Using tips from the community, prompted by media broadcasts, the Raccoon Township Police, with aid from neighboring agencies, managed to track him down.
Captured with the assistance of K-9 units and drones, Bombiani's arrest was the result of a joint effort. In a statement detailed by WPXI, Raccoon Township Police Sergeant Ben Fenchak voiced his appreciation, "On behalf of the victim, I, Sgt. Fenchak would like to personally thank the media outlets and their viewers/listeners for providing us with the information leading to the suspect’s quick apprehension." Enlisting the collaborative spirit of the community and local police agencies alike proved to be decisive in apprehending the suspect quickly.
The unfortunate incident, which involved Bombiani allegedly assaulting an elderly woman and stealing over $100 from her, required the woman to undergo ongoing medical treatment for her injuries. As reported by Audacy, her current medical status remains a point of concern.
The concerted effort featured the New Sewickley Township Police, Beaver County Sheriff’s Office, and detectives from the Beaver County District Attorney’s Office, all working alongside Raccoon Township officers. Sgt. Fenchak continued his gratitude, in a statement cited by Audacy, "I would also like to personally thank the leadership of The New Sewickley Twp. Police, Beaver County Sheriff's Office, and District Attorney's Office who, without hesitation, provided every resource they had, including K-9's and drone technology, to assist." The case is now with the Beaver County District Attorney's office, which will lead the prosecution efforts against Bombiani.
Currently, Bombiani is detained at the Beaver County Jail, awaiting the next steps in his legal proceedings.
