Chaos erupted in the Spring area early this morning when a suspected car thief's getaway came to a crashing halt. According to the Harris County Precinct 4 Constable's Office, the suspect was involved in a car theft and led deputies on a chase before the pursuit ended in a ditch at the end of Sciaaca Road. This event unfolded after authorities received a tip about a possible car theft in progress on Goldspring Lane.
In an attempt to evade capture, the suspect fled into the woods and ultimately decided to hide inside a trash can within the Bradbury Forest subdivision. "Constable Deputies, along with K9 Mattress Mack and drone support “Goose,” sniffed him out and hauled him off to jail," Constable Mark Herman shared in an account obtained by Click2Houston.
Prior to the chase, the now-captured individual was a passenger in a Chrysler 300, reported to have been stolen from Indiana. This suspect is believed to have then stolen a green Challenger from a local resident, initiating a pursuit by law enforcement. The Challenger was found crashed into a ditch, leading to the suspect's desperate hide-and-seek strategy.
A vigilant K9 unit was pivotal in apprehending the suspect. "A K9 found the suspect and he was taken to the county jail," detailed a report from ABC13. The suspect is now facing charges for his involvement in the car theft and the ensuing chase.
