A 52-year-old man, Robert Taylor, has been sentenced to 45 years in prison after pleading guilty to continuous sexual abuse of a child under 14, the Tarrant County District Attorney's Office reported. According to a post on the Tarrant County DA's official Facebook page, the conviction is a result of Taylor's reprehensible acts against two sisters, starting when they were about 8 years old, and continuing for almost a decade.
In a display of gratitude, the Tarrant County DA's office made a point to acknowledge the efforts of the Arlington Police Department, which were instrumental in bringing Taylor to justice. "Thank you to the Arlington Police Department for their work on this case and for their commitment to keeping our community safe," stated the Tarrant County District Attorney's Office on social media. The investigation unveiled that Taylor not only abused the victims but also photographed the abuse, used physical violence such as hitting them with a belt to force compliance, and further threatened to harm their families should they reveal the abuse.
The efforts of Assistant District Attorneys Megan Bradshaw and Steven Elliott, Investigator Matt Hardy, and Victim Coordinator Imelda Lopez were highlighted in the case's resolution. The DA's office praised their teamwork and dedication, which ultimately resulted in the prosecution and conviction of Taylor, bringing some measure of solace to the victims and their families.
