A 17-year-old was killed and an 18-year-old was injured in a shooting at a party with about 200 people on Waldine Street near Penn City Road in east Harris County around 11:15 p.m. on Saturday. Investigators said a confrontation between the 17-year-old and several males led to gunfire at the event, which included live music and paid admission. “Right now, we believe that this person was targeted by these individuals so we’re looking into the connection he may have had to them,” Sgt. Brown told Click2Houston. The 17-year-old died at the scene.

An 18-year-old was also injured in the shooting and taken to a hospital by private vehicle, where they are expected to recover. Deputies said the suspects, described as men in their late teens to early 20s, fled the scene as many people ran when law enforcement arrived.

Sgt. Brown said, "We're in the process of trying to review video, see if we can get a better description. We are asking that anybody that was at the party that witnessed it to please contact the sheriff's office or Crime Stoppers," as reported by KHOU.  The Harris County Sheriff’s Office is continuing its investigation.
