
A 17-year-old teen was wounded in a shooting incident in Jeff-Vander-Lou yesterday evening, authorities confirm. According to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, the incident took place in the 2900 block of Greer Avenue around 6:20 p.m. The teenage male, whose identity has not been released, was making his way home from a local store when he was unexpectedly fired upon by an unidentified individual adorned in a black face mask and blue jeans.
After being assaulted, the juvenile was able to escape and seek safety in his residence, where he promptly notified law enforcement. Arriving on the scene, emergency medical services were quick to respond and subsequently transported him to the hospital, facing life-threatening injuries. He is currently reported as being in critical but stable condition.
The circumstances that led up to the shooting remain unclear, as the investigation by District 4 is still actively in progress. Police have yet to apprehend the suspect or identify a motive for the shooting.
