The Metropolitan Police Department has swiftly resolved an armed robbery incident that occurred in Northeast D.C., leading to the apprehension of a local teenager. According to a press release from MPD, the event unfolded last Friday evening when Sixth District officers were summoned to the 1400 block of Eastern Avenue Northeast following reports of an armed robbery.
Upon reaching the scene, law enforcement learned that the alleged perpetrator, wielding a handgun, had confronted the victim and demanded their belongings, the encounter ending with the victim's phone being taken and the suspect making an escape.
Demonstrating resourcefulness and prompt action, officers tracked the phone, which led them directly to the suspect, resulting in an arrest without incident. Quick police work led to charges against 19-year-old Andre Williams of Northeast, who is accused of Armed Robbery (Gun), as reported by the Metropolitan Police Department.
