The courtroom drama continued on the second day of the trial for Hernandez Govan, who is accused of orchestrating the murder of rapper Young Dolph. The proceedings began at 9:40 a.m. earlier today, according to WREG.
Among the witnesses called to testify were the girlfriend of Cornelius Smith, an alleged shooter, and Michael Garner, a special agent for the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation who shared that phone records of several individuals connected to the case were obtained and Smith's girlfriend, Angela Arnold, she stated that her boyfriend implicated Yo Gotti's brother Anthony Mims as the instigator behind the murder plot according to her interview with Action News 5.
The prosecution began Monday by highlighting "choices", pointing to the $100,000 bounty on Young Dolph and alleging Govan's involvement in picking desperate individuals to carry out the hit, as reported by WREG, Govan's lawyer, however, disputes this characterization, suggesting Cornelius Smith's cooperation with prosecutors is self-serving, intended to redirect blame onto Govan.
Day 1 of the trial featured direct testimonies from Young Dolph's sister, his security guard, and Cornelius Smith, who admits his role as one of the shooters; the details of these initial testimonies, including Smith's, were covered in the Commercial Appeal, setting a groundwork for the arguments and evidence that would unfold as the trial progresses.
