Efforts by Northwest patrol officers culminated in the arrest of a notorious fugitive this past week, an event that marks a significant accomplishment for local law enforcement. According to the Dallas Police Department, Jose Marquina-Bonilla, age 33, was apprehended last Sunday, following a carefully coordinated surveillance operation.
Marquina-Bonilla, who had recently secured a spot on the Texas Department of Public Safety's list of 10 Most Wanted Criminals, was wanted by Grapevine P.D. for a first-degree felony charge of Continuous Sexual Abuse of a Young Child. The arrest took place after officers spotted his unoccupied vehicle in the 2900 block of Community Drive. Uniformed as well as covert officers established a perimeter and conducted a felony traffic stop upon Marquina-Bonilla's departure from the location.
The suspect was subsequently arrested without incident and transported to jail. "Our officers, uniformed and covert alike, demonstrate attentiveness and patience every day," said Executive Assistant Chief Jesse Reyes in a statement that underscores the diligent work and precision that goes into operations of this nature, per the Dallas Police Department.
