
Early this morning, a shooting in East Columbus resulted in three people being hospitalized. The Columbus Police Department responded to the incident in the 5100 block of Riding Club Lane, following reports of gunfire near East Main Street. According to FOX28, the response came shortly before 12:20 a.m., with two victims later transported to area hospitals and reported to be in stable condition.
There's yet no information regarding the trigger of the incident, nor have officials identified any suspects in connection with the violence. WBNS reported that upon arrival at the scene, officers found three individuals with injuries from gunshot wounds, all of whom were promptly taken to Grant Medical Center and Mount Carmel East Hospital. Their current states, stable for two and unknown for the third victim, reflect an unsettling ambiguity that cloaks the circumstances of this early morning crime.
Adding to the account of events, NBC4i indicated that the victims were discovered near the Wyandotte Athletic Club, which is in proximity to the reported location of the shooting. Hospitals, now harboring the wounded, have become fortresses against the afflictions of the night, offering aid and succor in the wake of this yet unexplained burst of violence.
