Heads up, Texas drivers: If you're planning to cruise along I-35 northbound, you might want to rethink your travel itinerary for the start of this week. The stretch of highway between Walnut Ave and FM 725 is getting a facelift, and the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) isn't waiting around to get started. According to a notice from New Braunfels government, the northbound lanes will be closed from tomorrow at 8 p.m. right through to the early hours on Tuesday, reopening each day by 5 a.m. So, plan to detour or sit in traffic—your choice.
TxDOT announced that I-35 northbound in New Braunfels will undergo nightly pavement repairs beginning at 8 p.m., with work scheduled to be completed by 5 a.m. each morning. Travelers are advised to plan ahead and expect delays during construction, according to a statement from TxDOT.
