
Tulsa drivers will experience lane closures and traffic changes due to ongoing highway construction projects. The right lane of eastbound I-44 at 49th W. Avenue will be closed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Tuesday for surface repairs, according to the Oklahoma Department of Transportation.
US-75 and the I-244 ramp to 1st Street will be reduced to one lane daily from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. through on Friday as part of ongoing work. Eastbound I-244 near the US-75 junction will remain limited to one lane through summer 2025 for bridge repairs. The I-44/US-75 interchange improvement project will continue through summer 2028. The westbound I-44 ramp to northbound US-75 and the southbound US-75 ramp to westbound I-44 are closed, with detours in place. Westbound I-44 is reduced to two lanes at US-75. Skelly Drive between Union Avenue and Olympia Avenue, and 51st Street from Jackson Avenue to Olympia Avenue, are closed, as reported by the Oklahoma Department of Transportation.
Construction and lane closures are underway at several locations: the I-44 and SH-66 interchange in Catoosa will continue through summer 2026, with the westbound I-44 off-ramp to northbound SH-66 closed and traffic redirected via a roundabout at 165th E. Ave. The SH-66 southbound ramp to westbound I-44 has a reduced merge area. US-75 bridge construction at 141st St. in Glenpool is expected to last until October 2025, and SH-97 pavement work in Sand Springs will continue until summer 2025. SH-66 near Catoosa is limited to one lane each way at the Bird Creek bridge for replacement work through early 2026. Oklahoma Department of Transportation advises drivers to follow posted signs and speed limits in these areas.
