
Today, Central Park was the site of two assaults in which two men were reportedly attacked without provocation. According to ABC7NY, the first incident occurred near 62nd Street and West Drive around 1:27 a.m., where an 18-year-old man endured a physical attack that escalated to a choking at the hands of an assailant.
Shortly after, at West 93rd Street, a second assault took place involving a 37-year-old man who was not only thrown to the ground but also suffered a bite to his ear. Despite the violent nature of these assaults, both victims managed to reach Mount Sinai Morningside, their conditions stable.
The cause of the attacks remains unknown, and no connection between the victims has been identified. Law enforcement has taken a "person of interest" into custody for questioning.
