In a display of bravery and rapid response, two individuals were rescued from a searing townhome fire in Clackamas County on Saturday morning. According to KPTV, the incident occurred just after 10:30 a.m. as Clackamas Fire crews rushed to the scene upon receiving reports of a trapped person inside the Milwaukie residence. In an unfolding of desperate actions, it was learned that a second person re-entered the blazing home attempting a rescue.

Upon the fire department's arrival, the first floor was found to be ablaze with the fire venting from the windows. The neighboring units, within the townhome's complex, were at risk as the flames attempted to claim more than what had already succumbed. KOIN reports that the fire, visibly bursting from the first-floor window, initially hindered entry through the front door. Firefighters from Oak Grove and Clackamas Fire Districts managed to access the building, fighting the flames and conducting a meticulous search for the entrapped individuals.

Fire crews brought the blaze under control within 25 minutes, containing it to the first floor and preventing it from spreading to other units. "Both, a man and a woman, were rescued and taken to local hospitals; their current conditions are unknown, Clackamas Fire said," as detailed by KGW. Authorities said the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
