Union County Solid Waste will hold its annual Household Hazardous Waste event on September 13, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Union County Agricultural Center. According to Union County's official website, the event allows residents to safely dispose of household hazardous materials.
Residents can bring items such as paints, pesticides, and household cleaners (up to five gallons each), up to three grill-size propane or helium tanks, and five boxes of documents for shredding.
In coordination with Operation Medicine Drop, a service of the Union County Sheriff’s Office, residents can also dispose of expired or unused medications, including over-the-counter, prescription, or unknown substances.
All materials must be in their original labeled containers to ensure proper handling. Disposal of items is free of charge.
For more information on acceptable items and event guidelines, residents can refer to Union County's official announcement.
