The California Highway Patrol has arrested someone in connection with a shooting event that occurred on Interstate 80, as reported by CHP - Solano's social media post. The suspect, Cameron Michael-Tanner Jones, 31, of Vacaville, was apprehended by the Golden Gate Division's Warrant Service Team, with the arrest taking place at his residence last Thursday.

According to the earlier incident on May 1, it was at approximately 5:55 p.m. that CHP officers received reports of a shooting on the eastbound I-80, just east of the Carquinez Bridge. With the detectives utilizing Flock Safety cameras during the investigation, the victim thankfully did not sustain injuries in the shooting.

CHP's Solano Area officers were the first responders on the scene, with the Golden Gate Division Special Investigations Unit later leading the thorough investigation. Jones now faces serious charges, including attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon, and shooting into an occupied vehicle. During his arrest, detectives executed a search warrant on Jones' home, consequently seizing two firearms.

In a display of appreciation for the investigative efforts, Chief Don Goodbrand of the CHP's Golden Gate Division praised his team, stating, "Hard work on the part of our detectives has led to yet another violent criminal in custody," and emphasizing their "unwavering dedication to tracking down those who chose to endanger drivers on our freeways" in the Solano social media announcement.
