A 43-year-old Oakland man is dead after his Porsche coupe veered off northbound Highway 101 near Mallory Canyon Road in Prunedale, slammed into a concrete wall, then struck a tree. The crash happened at 9:25 p.m. on September 5, and the man later died from his injuries after being taken to a Bay Area hospital.
According to the Bay Area News Group, the California Highway Patrol said the man was driving northbound when he veered to the left before his Porsche left the roadway, hit the concrete wall and then the tree. The crash was a solo-vehicle incident, and the cause remains under investigation. CHP has said it does not yet know whether drugs or alcohol played a role.
