A federal grand jury indictment was unsealed charging Marcos Gonzalez-Reyes, 43, of Vallejo, with distribution and possession of child sexual abuse material. The U.S. Attorney’s Office announced the arrest and said the case involved cooperation between federal and local agencies.
According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Gonzalez-Reyes used the file-sharing program eMule to distribute child exploitation images to undercover law enforcement over three days in December 2024. In May 2025, investigators searched his Vallejo home and found thousands more images. He was arrested with the assistance of the Solano County Sheriff’s Office. If convicted, he faces up to 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine for distribution, and up to 10 years and the same fine for possession, with sentencing to be decided by the court.
The investigation into Gonzalez-Reyes was conducted under Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative that combats child sexual exploitation through federal, state, and local partnerships. His arrest represents progress in prosecuting offenders and supporting victims, though he remains presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt, as reported by the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
