Last Friday, officers of the Vallejo Police Department's Patrol Division identified a familiar face on the 200 block of Cardinal Lane. The man, previously known to the department, was wanted on a felony robbery warrant originating from San Jose, according to a statement from the Vallejo Police Department.
Attempting to engage with the suspect, the situation escalated when he bolted to a nearby car, resisting arrest as officers closed in. Trying to shake the grasp of the law, he struggled, non-compliant to commands, and a desperate reach was made inside the vehicle. The officers, undeterred, eventually chased him down on foot following his exit from the car.
The arrest led to an alarming discovery: a stolen handgun, equipped with a so-called "Glock Switch," transforming it into a fully automatic weapon. Tucked close to the driver's seat, the firearm, along with its high-capacity magazine, represented a serious breach of law, as further checks on the suspect confirmed his convicted felon status and his recent bail release on pending cases while holding a robbery warrant, all divulged by the Vallejo Police Department's post.
The suspect's journey ended at the Solano County Jail, where he faced multiple felony charges, his vehicle was impounded, and the illegal firearm was secured as evidence.
