Wake County is offering $7 million over two years to local nonprofits through the Community Capital Competitive Grant Process to support capital projects addressing community needs, Wake County reports. Grants can fund facility construction or upgrades, infrastructure improvements, and the purchase of long-lasting equipment for services like housing, healthcare, and food assistance, as per the Wake County website.
The county is also reserving up to $500,000 through an impact fund for smaller nonprofits with limited resources. Proposals will be reviewed by county employees and local representatives based on strategic planning, problem-solving potential, and alignment with county objectives.
Interested organizations can attend an optional pre-submittal meeting on Wednesday next week, with a submission deadline of September 10. Reviews will continue through December, and final grant awards will be announced by late 2025 or early 2026.
