The Wauwatosa community is soon to bid farewell to a beloved local pizzeria, Pizza Man, with doors set to close for the final time on August 24. The decision to shut down was shared with a tinge of sadness via the restaurant's Facebook page, where it was expressed that the announcement was made "with a heavy heart," as reported by WISN. The establishment plans to offer daily specials from August 19 as a means to extend gratitude to its customers prior to its closure.
Having served the Wauwatosa area for a decade from its location at the Mayfair Collection, Pizza Man is reaching the end of its lease, and according to a news release sent to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, the closure follows "unsuccessful negotiations with the landlord regarding a lease extension. In addition to the present economical difficulties the restaurant industry endures."
Customers who have patronized the establishment over the years have been acknowledged for their loyalty and support, with the restaurant indicating they have "cherished serving you our pizzas and creating memories together," CBS 58 reports. Though the Wauwatosa location is shutting down, Pizza Man assures patrons that their Milwaukee location on Downer Avenue will continue to operate, declaring on social media that "is not going anywhere."
Pizza Man in Wauwatosa is closing soon, marking the end of its time in the community. As a thank-you, they’ll offer daily specials starting next week, giving customers one last chance to enjoy the restaurant. They’ve also said their Downer Avenue location will stay open, so the Pizza Man legacy will continue in Milwaukee, as per Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
