The familiar convenience chain Wawa is expanding its reach with a new location slated to commence operations in Nottingham this Thursday. The open doors will greet early customers at 8 a.m. at 8100 Belair Road, as reported by NottinghamMD, with the first hundred visitors to be welcomed with gratis t-shirts, a sign of the fanfare to come.
On top of the opening ceremony, the new Wawa location is brewing up a gratis offering of any-size hot coffee extending through August 17, as a gesture of celebration for their newest outlet, a detail confirmed by WMAR2 News, but it doesn't stop there, customers will also have the chance to indulge in the reintroduced $5 Big Breakfast Deal, a hearty combination that includes a breakfast sandwich, their choice of hot or iced coffee, and a hash brown to complete the meal.
The festivities are set to kick off at 7:45 a.m. with a pre-opening countdown helmed by General Manager Michael Elliott, following which at 8:30 a.m. there will be a formal ribbon-cutting event and a "Hoagies for Heroes" competition that pits local first responders against one another in a friendly sandwich-making contest that will come directly after. The celebration will also feature a parade inclusive of Wawa staff, endearingly dubbed "Craving Tamers", and an appearance from the company's mascot, Wally Goose, as NottinghamMD reported.
