
Concord, Massachusetts experienced an unsettling disruption on Wednesday night after a local woman engaged in what appeared to be a hoax bomb threat at two businesses. As reported by 7NEWS, the woman triggered fire alarms at a Dunkin' on Sudbury Road around 7:15 p.m. before placing a suitcase in an adjacent convenience store and subsequently fled the scene.
Authorities quickly responded to the establishments, evacuating the area within a 300-foot radius as a precautionary measure. The State Police Bomb Squad was summoned to meticulously examine the suspicious package. Fortunately, they confirmed that the suitcase did not contain explosives or any incendiary devices. Police, however, managed to locate the woman after she crashed her car in Lincoln and attempted to escape on foot. She was discovered and arrested in a nearby wooded area, said officials in a statement obtained by 7NEWS.
The suspect identified as April Grueter, 48, of Webster, is facing a slew of criminal charges. According to a report by NBC Boston, these charges include false fire alarm, tampering with a fire call box, disorderly conduct, and possession of a hoax device. Grueter is expected to be arraigned today in Concord District Court. As of now, it is unclear if she has secured legal representation.
