A disturbing incident occurred at the Rose Bowl during a Rüfüs Du Sol concert, where a woman was violently assaulted, as caught on video that has since spread across the internet. The attack happened after a dispute over a spilled drink last Wednesday, which left the woman unconscious and prompted an investigation by the Pasadena Police.
According to FOX LA, the assault commenced following an apology she and her friend made for accidentally spilling a drink on a man. Despite their efforts to defuse the situation, the assailant returned thirty minutes later, erupting in violence. The woman recalls waking up in the medical tent, missing the entire show, and suffering from significant injuries. Bystanders attempted to stop the attack, but the man fled into the crowd and is still at large. The Pasadena Police have encouraged anyone with information to come forward.
In the aftermath of the assault, Rüfüs Du Sol expressed their dismay over the event. "We have been heart broken to hear of the act of violence that took place during the opening act on Saturday. This type of behavior is completely unacceptable anywhere and the fact that this happened at one of our shows was devastating to learn aboutt," they stated on Instagram, as reported by ABC7.
Similar concerns about the Rose Bowl's management during the event were echoed by Christina Molina, seated just a few rows behind the victim. “I literally had people pressed up against my back, all of them blocking that entire walkway," Molina told KTLA. The assault's viral footage has sparked a broader dialogue on the venue's security measures, with many taking to social media to express their worries.
The Pasadena Police Department continues to pursue leads in the case, hoping to identify and apprehend the assailant, and have asked for the public's assistance. Calls can be made to the Pasadena Police or the L.A. Regional Crime Stoppers Hotline for those wishing to provide information anonymously.
