Tragedy struck in San Bernardino, where a woman was killed following a vicious dog attack at Perris Hill Park. Another individual sustained injuries during the harrowing encounter. According to a FOX LA report, the incident occurred on Thursday when the San Bernardino Police Department received a call about a dog attack near Pacific Street and Perris Hill Park Road.
The first officer on the scene attempted to help an injured woman, who reported being bitten. However, two dogs charged from nearby brush, leading to the officer discharging his firearm, resulting in the death of one of the dogs, as NBC Los Angeles describes. Authorities discovered the second victim just 30 yards from the incident, suffering from severe injuries from which she later succumbed while being transported to a local hospital.
The response from authorities was swift, with San Bernardino Animal Control arriving on scene to remove multiple dogs as a part of the current investigation into the attack. The police have not released the names of the victims, and it remains unclear what actions will be taken regarding the second dog involved in the attack.
