Early this morning in Downtown San Antonio turned tragic when a 28-year-old woman was shot and killed, in an incident police say appears accidental. As reported by KTSA News, authorities responded to the scene in the 300 block of South Flores around 4:30 a.m. where they found the victim with a gunshot wound to the abdomen. She died at the scene, a grim discovery that brought homicide investigators rushing to unravel the circumstances.
Per KENS 5, the woman and her 29-year-old boyfriend had guns displayed on a table inside their apartment, the couple was engaging in an activity for social media – tossing a gun in the air – when the rifle discharged and resulted in the fatal shooting, according to what officers say, the incident, while causing a life to cease untimely, is considered unintentional.
Police have not released the names of those involved, citing the need to protect the investigation and notify families. No arrests or charges have been made, and authorities are treating the incident as an accident.
