Mark your calendars, folks. The much-awaited reopening of Woodbury's Central Park is finally upon us, with doors swinging wide on October 1. The indoor park, a favorite local haunt for community events, has undergone a transformation aimed at enhancing the visitor experience with a few modern touches.
Major updates include a revamp of gathering spaces, a brighter look with improved lighting, and revamped common areas to welcome guests to meet and mingle while enjoying the park's amenities like the Lookout Ridge indoor playground, an amphitheater, and versatile multi-use spaces, amid an ever-urgent need for accessible indoor recreational venues, said Michelle Okada, Parks and Recreation Director, in a statement touted by the City of Woodbury's announcement.
True to its goal of remaining a vibrant hub for decades, Central Park has been closed to undergo these improvements that guarantee its spot as a charming cornerstone for local gatherings. The park, located snug at 8595 Central Park Place, has long been an anchor for community activities, and its reopening is set to reignite those ties.
The onset of autumn heralds the return of community to Central Park, a time when kids can once again clamber over the playground. Adults can catch up over a game of chess in the updated common areas, and everyone in between can find their niche in the reimagined space that promises to retain its community-centric vibe; in preparation for the big day, Woodbury officials are cueing up all the details from hours to snapshots of the rejuvenated space on the city's website.
