
A tragic incident unfolded in Union Township, near Mount Pleasant, Michigan, when a 70-year-old Woodhaven man lost his life in a vehicular collision, authorities reported. Michigan State Police were called to the scene on East Pickard Road following the accident, which occurred at approximately 10:00 a.m. last Saturday. FOX 2 Detroit reports that the man was maneuvering his Ford Edge SUV out of a hotel parking lot when he was struck by an oncoming Chevy Silverado.
Police indicate that the Silverado was being driven by a 50-year-old Rosebush man who, having sustained serious injuries, was promptly transported to a local hospital. Pulled out by the Woodhaven man, the SUV was not able to avoid the collision, where he succumbed to his fatal injuries at the site of the crash. As of yet, the name of the deceased has not been released. Audacy relays that the Michigan State Police Mt. Pleasant Post are continuing their investigation into the specifics of this heartbreaking event.
Additional details furnished by CBS Detroit confirm that the crash took place in Central Michigan, with the victim residing in Woodhaven, Michigan, some 159 miles southeast from where the fatality occurred. The Rosebush resident, implicated in the incident, was behind the wheel of a Chevrolet Silverado during this unfortunate collision.
