Last week, Yuba County Sheriff’s Office delivered a substantial blow to local criminal activity with the Problem Oriented Policing (POP) Team seizing an arsenal of weapons and a significant amount of drugs. A collaborative effort with federal authorities brought them to a residence in Olivehurst on the 1400 block of English Way, where they conducted a thorough search.
The operation turned up seven assault rifles and eight handguns, alongside approximately two pounds of opium, as per a social media post by the Yuba County Sheriff's Department. The bust didn't just net arms and drugs; $39,700 in cash was also confiscated during the search. Arrested at the scene was 25-year-old Kuldeep Singh of Olivehurst, who is now facing charges related to firearms and narcotics.
While the Sheriff's Office did not disclose the specifics of what led to the search warrant, they were clear on the outcome, stating, "This successful operation underscores the Sheriff’s Office’s continued commitment to removing illegal firearms and dangerous drugs from the streets of Yuba County," as mentioned in their social media post. The ongoing threats posed by such criminal elements to the community's well-being have been met with a proactive stance by local law enforcement.
