The Yuba County Sheriff's Department said their Problem Oriented Policing Team conducted two major drug busts last week. The operations led to multiple arrests and the seizure of drugs, firearms, and cash, as reported by the Yuba County Sheriff's Department.

Last Thursday, detectives executed a search warrant on the 3600 block of Highway 20 and found 6 grams of DMT and signs of a DMT lab. The Yuba County Sheriff’s Department said the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration lab team helped process the site safely. The 44-year-old suspect, David Rhodes, admitted to producing DMT and was booked on narcotics charges and an outstanding warrant.

On Monday, the Problem Oriented Policing Team searched the College View Apartments on North Beale Road and found about 80 grams of fentanyl, digital scales, and signs of drug sales. A storage unit linked to 24-year-old Pedro Zazueta Diaz contained firearms, including an AR-style rifle and a Ruger 5.7 handgun, and over $22,000 in cash. Diaz was arrested and faces narcotics and firearms charges. "The Yuba County Sheriff’s Office remains committed to proactive enforcement operations that disrupt narcotics manufacturing and trafficking while holding offenders accountable," according to the Yuba County Sheriff's Department on their Facebook page.
