
A 12-year-old boy lost his life tragically while riding an electric scooter in east Las Vegas when he was hit by a van. The somber event occurred yesterday morning just before 11 a.m. at the intersection of Tully Avenue and Hidden Desert Way, as reported by FOX5 Vegas. According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, this incident has become the city's 119th traffic-related fatality of the year.
The collision was reported to have involved a 2017 Ford E350 van traveling westward, which struck the young boy as he tried to quickly cross into the van's path. 8 News Now noted that evidence gathered at the scene, alongside dashcam footage, corroborated the sequence of the devastating events.
Police relayed that the driver of the van stayed at the crash site and was subjected to field sobriety tests. The results showed the driver was not impaired. Despite the tests, the young boy was pronounced dead at the scene, failing to show any signs of life upon the arrival of medical personnel.
